Probably from people who aren’t out of their minds?

The west bank wasn’t under control of Hamas… And what did they get? Israel dismantled the settlements in Gaza, not in the West Bank. Is there a Palestinian state in the West Bank? There’s fuck all. That’s what the Palestinians over there got for no Hamas: settlers that take their land and even less authority over their lands.

Not to forget that Netanyahu supported the Hamas in order to divide the Palestinians and reject further negotiations on the pretext of “There’s noone who could speak for the Palestinians.”

And not to forget that the Hamas won free and democratic elections not only in Gaza but also in the Westbank and East Jerusalem. After that they proposed a ten year ceasefire to negotiate on the future of Israel and Palestine.

Israel and the USA rejected negotiations although they knew from the history of Israel that the best way to transform terrorists to politicians is to negotiate with them. (Many of the early Israeli politicians had been terrorists before the establishment of the state of Israel. Let’s not forget that either.)

Instead they gave weapons to the Fatah to take down Hamas, which led to the Palestinian civil war of 2006/2007. The Fatah only succeeded in the Westbank. One more division which served as just another pretext for Israel to stop thinking about a Palestinian state and just go on building more illegal settlements and a big wall on Palestinian territory, aiming for making a Palestinian state impossible.

Just as they are using the current “war against Hamas” as a pretext to try to get rid of the entire population of the Gaza Strip. That is why Gaza is being destroyed to the point of being completely uninhabitable.

That only happens because there is no agreement to create Palestine to establish clearly where Israel ends and Palestine starts. Who opposes that? Hamas and neofascist settlers. They feed each other to make sure that there is no solution, so hamas can still aim for its goal of destroying Israel and the fascists in Israel can keep taking advantage of the legal limbo of undefined borders.

Hamas just needs to accept that they won’t go to hell for accepting that Israel is not going anywhere and Israel just needs to return to its 1967 borders and recall all the illegal settlers, then they can move onto progressively returning full sovereignty to Palestine provided no more attacks are launched from there.

Dude, Arafat recognised Israel in '93 as head of the PLO. All that would have been left was this:

Israel just needs to return to its 1967 borders and recall all the illegal settlers

          Guess what they didn’t.

Your simple “all that would need to be done” remark was fulfilled by the Palestinians 30 years ago. This whole argument of “Hamas just needs to recognise Israel” is literally decades behind, we’ve been there but Israel just didn’t do their part. I’m not saying Hamas isn’t a terrorist bunch of fucks and the October 7th attacks were obviously vile, inhumane terror. But your “solution” was already unilaterally rejected by Israel, so please come up with something better if you’re seriously suggesting this “both sides need to calm down” crap.

There is no agreement to recognise Palestine because Israel is a settler colonial power since its inception. And is backed by other colonisers.

See: The Neglected History of the State of Israel - The Revisionist faction of Zionism that ended up triumphing adhered to literal fascist doctrines and traditions.

I USE THE WORD “FASCIST” in the literal sense. Do not flinch from it. The founders of Revisionist Zionism certainly didn’t. Respect them enough to take them at their word.

In 1928, a prominent Revisionist named Abba Ahimeir published a series of articles entitled “From the Diary of a Fascist.” They refer to the founder of their movement, Ze’ev Jabotinsky (his adopted first name is Hebrew for “wolf”), as “il duce.” In 1935, his comrade Hen Merhavia wrote that Revisionists were doing what Mussolini did: “establish a nucleus of an exemplary life of morality and purity. Like us, the Italian fascists look back to their historical heritage. We seek to return to the kingdom of the House of David; they want to return to the glory of the Roman Empire.” They even opened a maritime academy in Italy, under Mussolini’s sponsorship, for the navy they hoped to build in their new Israeli state. “[T]he views and the political and social inclinations of the Revisionists,” an Italian magazine reported, “are absolutely in accordance with the fascist doctrine … as our students they will bring the Italian and fascist culture to Palestine.”

I appreciate you say that. I only wish any of the downvoting people would right a comment on why or what they didn’t like, to further the conversation.
