That oughta be pretty hilarious for anywhere that’s not on the northeast corridor.
Yeah, sometimes when planning a trip I looked up trains just for fun - always a lot more expensive and also much slower than flying for any significant distance. And if it’s close enough that a train would be better than flying then it’s cheaper to just make it a road trip.
The only case I’ve seen trains make sense where I am is light rail for commuting and other public transit.
This could be really useful for someone who doesn’t even realize that there are trains some places, but I think in cases where the train is so much better than flying they should put it at the top:
Google is trying to look green, but they don’t want to canibalize those sweet commissions from selling plane tickets.
Last time I tried to take an Amtrak train, it was over four hours late. I gave up and drove to my destination.
