You should also consider the additional wear and tear on your car. It’s a hidden expense, but quantifiable (and not enough to vastly change your calculations). Still worth considering, though.
Also, you showed two options: partially by public transport, and wholly by public transport. This is really a commentary on how badly we’re getting price-gouged when using intercity rail. Bus travel (if there were a route available) would have been cheaper than the train.
