Wanting to die and committing suicide are totally separate things. Suicidal ideation requires a focus on a method… It’s very specific, often like a specific bridge, or a specific method, like pills or a gun. Take that option away, and overwhelmingly people don’t find another
Saying “I want to fall off the Earth” is nowhere close to saying “I want to jump off a building”. The first one is an expression of a feeling of exhaustion with life, the second one is a potential cry for help
