When WOTC started to fuck up D&D and people were talking about chucking their books away I was encouraging them to mail them back to WOTC instead.
If you’re going to protest a company you have to figure out how to cost them money.
I posted in an ADHD community about how I’m fed up with managing my symptoms and I think I finally need to talk to a professional. Someone tried to blame my symptoms on capitalism.
As someone who simply left Reddit because they took away RIF and only stays here because I’m stubborn, Lemmy is the left wing version of Truth Social. A great deal of the users here are the absolute embodiment of the people from Sanfrancisco in South Park huffing each others farts about how progressive they are.
Like, I get it and I do agree in principle on most things with Lemmy which is the only reason I dont leave, but make no mistake THE FEDIVERSE IS AN ECHO CHAMBER.

Kind of not answering the question but I still feel it applies.
The whole premise of Suits was bullshit and meant while I enjoyed the show I was constantly getting pissed off by the “Mikes Secret” storyline.
Definitely one of the most prestigious law firms in New York, Almost certainly the country and known worldwide is ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NEVER going to knowingly hire someone without a law degree and allow them to practice law not even if that man is the smartest legal mind alive.

I saw what you did there.

I enjoyed it, I went in expecting hot garbage and I got “Westernised-Marvel Cowboy Bebop” it wasnt a 10/10 but it was fun and entertaining, even if I felt they did leave a fair bit on the table.

It does get better.
Its replaced by some new fresh hell, but its nice to know the problems change.

This is especially frustrating with the 2 to 4 age bracket. When they ask for something, especially when its a treat like chocolate or fast food and especially when you decide you dont want to deal with the tantrum for saying no and you give it to them and then they give you A GIANT FUCKING TANTRUM for giving them the treat they asked for.
You dont hate them but fuck…

Nobody hates the smell of cigarettes like true ex smokers. It simultaniously turns our stomachs and reminds us we will never ever feel truly relaxed or happy ever again.

Well if they dont I just dont watch them.

If it helps, theres 2 things I respect when it comes to content creators/youtubers/influencers.
They are rarely if ever on camera. Futurecanoe, GrogTV, early Babish, etc.
They are absolutely transparent about how they are making money and they dont try to monetise every avenue.
Shouldnt ave touched me chip, simple as.

IMO Its appeal is that its a solid 8 out of 10 across the board.
The story is deep enough for adults but structured well enough for kids. It doesnt pander to boys or girls. No cheesy soundtrack or “scrappy do” bullshit. No terrible voice acting choices (Jack Black probably would have done a great job as Syndrome.) Dad kicks ass, Mom kicks ass. Its somehow almost a parody of a superhero movie while being better than most of them at being one. Somehow theres way less cinematic cringe bullshit than any Marvel movie. Its not just good as a kids movie or as an animated movie. Its a straight up GOOD MOVIE that you can put on for a room with 4 generations in it and its unlikely anyone will hate it.
Its no best movie ever made but I have a 6yo and when I hear “Can we watch The Incredibles?” It’s an automatic yes.

Sometimes a role needs Jack Black, he is perfect in High Fidelity.

I think its a maturity thing for guys. My gym buddies and I were talking about mental health a while back and I said “I was on meds for a while because I had an irrational sense that life wasnt worth living. A year later on the meds I was fat, unmotivated and had erectile dysfunction and I was like ‘Great, now I have legitimate reasons to think about killing myself’ so I came off the pills.”
The 20 somethings all looked super fucking uncomfortable, the thirty somethings nodded and made sympathetic faces and the other 40+ guy said “How are you doing with it these days?” Of course I immediately deflected and said “Oh its hard as a rock” which got the laugh and broke the tension. But the only guy who didnt duck the conversation was the guy of a similar age who had a rough divorce years before I knew him…

You really do need to consider the target audience… take the live action Cowboy Bebop for example.
“Lets just change a bunch of shit I’m sure middle-aged anime fans will be completely reasonable about this online.”

One of the fitness people I follow has two apps and he regularly tells his viewers “You dont NEED my apps to get great results, you dont NEED to watch my videos either. I just think they both help. Now just subscribing as a member is just money for me so you should definitely do that”
Which is a level of influencer honesty I can definitely get behind.
Exactly They have to recieve, store, open, process and pay for the disposal of the items. Its nothing if 10 people do it, 10,000 people mailing back a box full of books becomes a logistical headache very quickly.
