Look at all the lifes and resources thrown in the dumpster for absolutely nothing. True insanity.

Well, you pay with your data so there’s that…
Man, I remember upgrading from a GB Color to a GBA SP, finally being able to play in the dark without this weird magnifying glass / light attachment.
Good old times.
People expect to switch platforms and immediately have the same experience there is mind-blowing.
We all spent 10ish years (!) tailoring our experience on Reddit. It’s no surprise that you can’t replicate all of that within 2 weeks.
WhatsApps main “killer feature” was being early in the market to quickly reach a critical user mass.
Doesn’t matter which competitor, people will install an alternative, see that only 5-10% of their contacts have it and will immediately uninstall.
I see potential in preinstalled messaging apps. But it needs to be cross-compatible between iOS and Android. Otherwise it won’t fly.
Many have tried, many have failed.
You simply need a killer feature to get people to change.
I actually have issues with wefwef now, gives me a lot of errors.
But I think the next days will be a little rough because of many new signups.
So he pays for a ship and you need to sail to Spain? That’s quite the favor to ask…
There’s no karma here! Free yourself from this mind prison!
Which, in this particular case, wouldn’t be a bad thing. Just integrate the community aspects into Google Maps, make them optional.
If you are a member of such a small community, be sure to create it here. Users will usually take a look at Lemmy and first search for their favorite topics. If they don’t find anything, they will go back to Reddit…
Not even fair. The Zuck is a robot he doesn’t even feel any pain.
The power of Reddit lies within its very diverse and many communities on special interests. People browsing r/piracy also browse the Frontpage, r/all and so on. But mainly their special interests is what kept them there. Because funny memes can be found everywhere.
Now, if those special interests are not being served any more, people will go elsewhere. So no, I don’t think they will be happy and investors won’t be either.
The end of Sync is the reason why I will leave Reddit at the end of the month. So nice to see that we eventually might get a new app for Lemmy!
It’s even worse as PC gamer.
My Gaming rig literally sat there 4 years unused because of two kids.
Now I feel the urge to game again, everything in this rig is outdated. Spent couple hundred bucks to get it ready again and it was amazing getting back to building a PC.
Now do I have time for playing? Hell na, see you in three years upgrading again.
