I have had a theory that the personality tests are just to have an excuse to discriminate with plausible deniability.

91·6 months agoWow nice, just sent it to a friend that is a EU citizen.
I think it is simply because people are afraid and are doing their best at coping. This results in seeking validation and support. It has been a lot worse since Trump got into office.
He is forcing everyone to pay attention all the time. One insane action after another. One goal post after another. Many things are relevant to the communities in some way. Many feel the need to fight back within their community.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Why does Signal want a phone number to register if it's supposedly privacy first?
101·6 months agoThis is incredibly important. Signal is considered the “gold standard” of encrypted and private communication for a reason.
Yeah, it’s so fucking wild.
The author of the tweet didn’t go far enough. Should have gone for for 1 million USD instead. Even if you made 1 000 000$ every day, it would still not be enough.
Absolutely insane.

161·6 months agoI totally get why he prefers to just update SDV.
He is already rich from the original game. He loves expanding on it. People love him for the additional content.
So there is not a huge incentive for him to not just do exactly what he likes and expand SDV indefinitely 😄
Some photographer took a picture of a politician in the Trump admin using a Signal clone. That signal clone allowed the user to archive chats to a third party.

Europe@feddit.org•Nordics and Estonia rolling out offline card payment back-up in case internet cutEnglish
10·6 months agoWe have had this for a long time in Norway I believe. Not sure about Visa and MasterCard, but for our own BankAxept. Most debit cards have both BankAxept and Visa in Norway. So we pay with BankAxept most places by default, except for online stores. BankAxept is either free or extremely cheap compared to Visa.
If the terminal does not connect with the bank, then you just have to sign the receipt.
Terminals also often have batteries, so they even support being without power.
So if bank goes down then payments below 1500NOK (~150 euros) is just a signature on a receipt.

1016·6 months agoUpvoted.
I have a counterpoint to those claiming that paid are better. By using a privacy oriented search engine, then they don’t know exactly who you are. In theory just your IP. Maybe fingerprinting.
When paying they know exactly who you are. You have to trust them.
So in one case you can protect yourself, in the other you have to trust them.
Also, Kagi also uses the Russian index Yandex 😑
If you are confident you can be a bit embarrassing and people just like you more for it. You are open, unique, a bit quirky and cute. They laugh with you, not at you. At work people lower their guards around you and you get people to deliver quality and get shit done. Being well liked and often right is a killer combo in the engineering world.
Embrace the cringe, so that the cringe just becomes embarrassing, then it becomes good times and team building.

Yes of course. It is super rigorous. With both required extensive theoretical classes, theoretical test, required session with driving on ice, minimum hours of driving, and a driving test.
I mean’t the humor for teaching it

Can someone do me? 😄 I am super curious
