I loved Elden Ring, I don’t play many games these days but it really hooked me. But also it really needs to get over itself and add difficulty options.

I do think the difficulty is part of the fun but I almost didn’t finish it because it was so all over the place, toward the end it just got grindy, bosses just turned into long roll fests until you got your one chance per minute to knock off 2% of its health bar. They feel more like endurance matches that test your patience more than skill.

Sometimes I’m dying a lot and having fun because the challenge is good, but sometimes it’s just tedious and I want to move on to the next area. I would love to be able to drop the difficulty for a bit just for those spots, hell make it an in game item called cry baby bottle for losers and wimps for all I care.

This is awesome, I hope more places do this, or at least put much greater restrictions on it.

Yucking someone’s yum is just a phrase about trying to turn someone away from something they enjoy. like if someone was to tell me that knee pits aren’t sexy I’d say ‘don’t yuck my yum’

There’s one guy in my little group of friends who is an unapologetic hugger, even though the rest of us don’t really hug he’ll always hug everyone goodbye. I’d say it’s possible some guys don’t enjoy it, but I actually really appreciate it about him, it’s nice getting a hug and sometimes I really need one.

For anyone who really doesn’t like it they can always offer their hand first, but on behalf of all the guys who need a little affection from their buds sometimes I wanna say thanks for being there for the friends who need it. Even if they never say so I’m sure some of them appreciate it.

Just to be clear my issue with it is how commercialised it is, not the tech itself which is actually kind of interesting. This ‘wall’ though should have always been obvious and the solution isn’t just more llms or more training data, for actual advancements people need to be putting money into other areas of research.

This should have been pretty obvious from the outset. The annoying thing is that it’s still being touted by people who should know better.

But if you wanna try making some vegan food my advice is just don’t overthink it, make some pasta and just pan fry some veggies you like and mix 'em through with some olive oil. It’s always a tasty time.

That’s probably smart. Even with important things I don’t think online arguments have ever swayed anyone. I like being an annoying vegan and arguing about it occasionally, but sometimes it’s just frustrating and I have to disconnect for a while.
