As long as it’s a easily toogled off as the search bar is, I don’t mind.
Them getting rid of the ability to have different windows of the same kind with full title bar next to each other IMHO is a much bigger pain.

And considering that veterans are over represented in the homeless population, they actively hurt those who have served the country instead of helping them. Shameful!
It’s the only place in the world where the Jewish people are guaranteed protection by a government.
They failed massively on this part on last September. Not only did they ignore several countries warning then but they actively moved soldiers from protecting the border to Gaza to the Westbank to help in their illegal settler campaign. And even after being engaged in massive battles in Gaza they KEEP fucking things up in the Westbank, ensuring that the people there will continue to hate Israel. And that’s by no means a new development but they have been doing so for decades.
So yeah, they are doing a really shitty job at protecting their people.

Only one of those countries currently still is a dictatorship.
No worries, it’s quite an odd behaviour. It was the same back on Reddit. No idea if there is a good reason for it or if they copied it to be the same as with Reddit.
Next time use two line breaks after each line and it will work.
And yet they are pretty much non avoidable for certain services. And some of those services are really neat.
My library subscription for example certainly is worth it. So is my public transportation subscription.
Oh well sorry that I took your “subscriptions suck” literally. I guess what that meant to say was “subscriptions with adds before them suck”. My fault for not figuring this out.
You think schools don’t have councillors?
Oh some do, but it’s certainly something which could use a lot more funds. That would definitely be much better at tackling bullying than school uniforms.
What do you think these “underlying issues” that contribute to inequality are?
I was talking about the “underlying issues” of bullies.
We’re talking about a gaming streaming platform. How do you think that concept could ever work without a subscription?
And frankly, adds for the free users really isn’t that outrageous or surprising either. I’m mostly surprised that this wasn’t the case from the start.
But the inequality isn’t addressed! Parent’s now have to shell out additional money to buy school uniforms and you can bet that kids who spend their free time around other kids still want to have what ever shoe, pants or jersey is in right now. They sure as hell don’t spend their free time in their school uniform! So this does absolutely nothing to address this issue.
And frankly, handling peer pressure is a topic that every parent should properly teach their kids. The solution to this for damn sure isn’t to buy your kid what ever fashion trend is in right this week!
What else do you want them to do?
How about working with troubled kids to address the underlying issues?
Which shows that they really don’t understand bullying and are looking for an easy way out. Bullies will now just pick another “excuse” to harass other kids. If you want to have less bullying you have to tackle why bullies do so in the first place. And that’s personal problems of the bullies them self and not external factors.
Well Putin for sure would be happy if Ukraine would choose this path. He’s quite used to brutally squash dissidents. Russia also has absolutely no qualm to disperse a group throughout their country to destroy their cultural identity. They are already doing so with the Ukrainian children they’ve kidnapped.
So sorry, but your proposal seems to be really naiv and not taking into account how fucking brutal Putin’s Russia is to people stepping even slightly out of line.
Why do you think I want you to not say this? That’s of course absolutely fine if you prefer a smaller community with all it’s pros and cons.
I just don’t know any way how your last sentence could come true with what we know about social media.
I don’t see how. Stuff which interests a very small percentage of people obviously results in a lot less people interested in it on a much smaller platform. You would need to specifically target and convince people of such niche interests to come on over. That doesn’t seem likely.
Loads of people are bad for stuff that’s very popular. But they also allow niche communities to build up. The later is what I miss about the Fediverse.
The new terminal for example is a rather neat improvement over the old command prompt, especially with the integration of Linux systems. Winget also is rather nice. Just two examples. So yeah with all the valid criticism Microsoft deserves for quite a bit of policies, I don’t think your hyperbole holds up.
