12·1 year agoThe problem with The Primeagen is that he seems to want to be comedian. Actually, most of the coder stream. Showing off, joking all the time, inserting sponsor etc…
Better spend your time on actually coding/learning than watching such video which only help their creator (improving their skills, earning money and getting visibility).
Act like Joshuito, do the work.
Flatpak is kind of bringing the BSD mindset of base system versus end-user apps to Linux.
What must one not read. The reason is that FreeBSD develop and maintains the whole base system: kernel + system related frontend and because it’s a clean architecture. For the isolation they had jails before containers was a thing.
Flatpak was not about sandboxing, this aspect is quite recent. It is a response to how bad the CI-pseudoCD was for Gnome and to build/deploy apps based on gnome-stack easily. For proprietary product, I still have to see it a proprietary product not available outside flatpak…
Don’t get me wrong, it’s good that Flatpak tackle the sandboxing question that was not what was sold previously. Also, I use official repos and mainly FOSS. Flatpak won’t prevent a supplychain attack. So my trust remains the main repos.

I don’t get all the fuse about Flatpak. I does not solve anything for FOSS. Maybe for proprietary software and still… Steam/Microsoft/Google provide packages for most of the principal distro.
no, you can literally dictate what to do without having a computer in front of you… On Windows, try to remember in which window, page of that window and which button to click to change anything.
actually, Google was really working on something like this, based on googlestreet images, gps, accelerometer, time, AI etc… to deduce the image and sell cameraless smartphone.
what a stupid idea, honestly
- because it is indeed stupid: the most inefficient way to provide an existing and cheap feature
- cameras are actually the selling point of most the expensive smartphone
- I WANT to capture it myself
