Because someone needs to be enslaved to provide universial health care. If even one person wants to opt out, no matter how wrong their reason you if you allow don’t allow it they are enslaved. (note that there have been many different systems of slavery, but even the best still remones choice from someone). as such I prefer other options if they exist.

There are other options and so I oppose universial health care. Do not confuse that with approving of the system we have.

Your local bike store should have a nice selection. I use my EV bike all the time and the car I keep for those few trips where the bike doesn’t work just sits… You should too. Don’t forget to check out the local transit options (and if - as is likely - they are bad demand better)

drive the retail areas of town and look for the rental signs. yellow pages. They want to be found by locals so look in the places locals might. hardware stores either rent stuff or will tell you if you ask.

There are pros and cons to both. Sometimes you should rent, others buy. If you use it every day then buying is often best. If you need it once a decade then rent.

There always have been some around. Not all diy stores have one but there is always one near from what I’ve seen. People keep discovering them and thinking they are new.

I’m not sure if I could get anywhere and back. Woge I own a gun and you have allowed me to get it on a plane, but that day would expire before I get home and now I have a gun that I am taking through airports and customs.

We need ways to counter them. If nobody counters when they warn about whatever made up junk they have someone else will believe them. I don’t know how to country them though - it is harder than you might think. I don’t think these reach any refinery so that isn’t an option. What is best is anything that sows confusion.

We know something is coming now. Some things have probably already arrived. Russia knows that too. However the what is important, if Russia knows what is arriving they can move the correct things out of range and not have them destroyed. By not saying what is arriving Ukraine can wait until something “juicy” is in range and get it by surprise. Either that or Russia will move some valuable things away from the front that the proper system to get them isn’t even coming and that means that system can’t be used against Ukraine (or it can but Ukraine has better chance to see it coming)

Russia knows all the above of course, but what can they do? (Russia likely knows more than us because of spies, but between compromised spies and not wanting to give away what a spy said may not dare do anything)

The only hard part is how to you keep Russia’s nukes from ending the world. Those who have access to classified information (and thus cannot talk) are acting like they believe Russia’s nukes are in good shape. And there is plenty of public evidence to suggest they might be (that part of their military got a lot of the budget after the soviet breakup)

I have needed a new phone every 2 for the last 6 years because my old one physically broke. Battery might be good, but the screen is cracked: new phone. My last phone quit recognizing the SIM, and so new phone it is. In theory I can buy the parts to repair the phone, but in practice either the parts are obsolete and not stocked, or I can get them special order from China if I’m willing to wait weeks and pay half the price of a new phone. Then hope I actually manage to get the phone together again.

I live in the US where we use many weird by world standards frequencies. I’ve looked into various repairable phones, (fair phone, pine phone), but I quickly realize I often travel in parts of the US where they won’t work. Thus I’m stuck with what my carrier offers. (Apple might be more repairable, but apparently more locked down)
