I definitely agree with this, but damn, the upkeep for having an instance of your own can be a strain on your server, though. We have a small instance of ours in order to subscribe to other instances (not just lemmy.world) and in a span of 4 weeks, the database got up to 6 gigs already… can’t imagine how much it would cost to have more than 15 users. Donations would have to be a default setup if people want a particular instance to keep running and not have it become like Reddit, and I understand better now why some have to pass a particular screening first.

I’m feeling pretty sad that Twitter is getting worse and worse after every update. Smaller content creators, aside from their discord, would use Twitter primarily to reach out to their community or get discovered by others who haven’t seen them yet and you didn’t even need Twitter Blue to make that happen. I wonder how this limit is going to affect artists as well who hustle through that website. :<

Yeah, for sure.

Definitely teachers. Having to teach and guide human beings who are impulsive and reckless by nature due to their still developing brain is not an easy feat. Endless patience and understanding is needed. Used to teach in a middle school and high school for three years before and my goodness, it was so difficult but also so fulfilling. It’s something I’d probably never do again.

Welcome, everybody! No doubt this part of the fediverse will see gradual growth, but just the same I’m pleased to see old and new names here. I can’t wait to be more active in interacting with you all =)

While utterly fascinating, my inexperience self wonders how it’s going to be like if these microbes somehow interact with a modern organic being assuming a lot has changed in a billion years biologically. Torn between wanting to find out… and not wanting to open that pandora’s box.
