This was my intention. The title is misleading imo.
Just tryin’ to get federated. Find me on lemmy.world and kbin.social, too!

Thanks for your kind words. I am not an idiot or a conspiracy nut.
Sorry for the ambiguity. What I mean to say is that the language this general is using very clearly indicates that the US has plans in place that have been decided on prior to any serious engagement. To call it a “prediction” is a poor choice of words. Thanks for assuming I’m a conspiracy nut you guys. Also, not everyone lives on Lemmy and can respond instantly. Whether you like my comment or not it is not cool to speculate on someone based a one-word statement.
This is dope. Do they just chill all day and watch for people in distress or do the handlers have to direct them?
Because it’s likely theater …
I am 46 and started my career in tech but now work in another industry. I think it’s people with inquisitive minds rather than an age demographic. If there is something new and cool to check out in tech and it’s easy enough for busy people to understand I am all over it.
My poor wife’s eyes glaze over every time I talk about whatever it is I am into at the time, lol. For instance now I can’t shut up about a federated Reddit alternative ;-) She supports my nerd-side and it’s great to have a spouse that is even slightly into whatever I think is cool, but yeah I’m a dork …
Agreed. Those are the ones I’ll miss.
Lemmy is easier to get set up for us folks who aren’t as technical as we used to be. The biggest hurdle for me is for social networks like Twitter or IG where I know people irl who won’t be moving to mastodon probably ever. On Reddit I never made a single friend during the almost 15 years I had an active account.
I just came in from Reddit. Much easier than going from Twitter to Mastodon.
I wasn’t dog whistling - what group am I supposedly trying to garner support for?
