WSJ only sounds this good because the situation is that insane

WSJ only sounds this good because the situation is that insane

But… Betteridge’s law of headlines normally works, it caught me off guard

This is humble bragging

I think having over 20,000 different languages during the Roman Empire period ( where there was probably at least 5,000 language in Europe and Asia) explains so much about historical events and isolations of different areas

I remember them, glad they found a new home !

We are talking about one of most openly criminal politicians in the USA. He has spent decades stealing from Texas. He just does not get paid in money to his bank accounts.
His total worth must be north of a billion dollars, given how long he has been in power. It’s distributed across family and hidden in dozens of ways.

Ptb.
This is maybe the hundredth misbehavior by the same person. It’s gotten boring to read these. But it’s not usually the same people being hurt. Instead, it’s a new batch of victimized commentators each time.
At this point, it’s more interesting to wonder how that community, or any community run by him, still has enough traffic to generate outrage.
I wonder if he plays the role of scary predator in this lemmy ecosystem, driving engagement and eating the newborn or vulnerable posters, somehow and mysteriously keeping this place more healthy than not?

I also left after the api drama after 9 years and many thousands of comments.
I’m happy with my move to lemmy. There are some rough areas in the tech and definitely some personalities to watch out. But I think the experience is good
If steam changed ownership and control, there is nothing stopping the new people from doing things similar to other big companies.

I guess this will break millions of search links built up over the years

I got an angle on a better loan, but it that just tangential to the joke
Proton is trying its best to be big tech; it looks different from other companies, but the way it’s developing hints there will not be much difference later besides good messaging, good public relations ( despite an awkward ceo) and a small increase of privacy.
This be a better option for many people , but it’s not that much better

An ancient asteroid made before long before our solar system ever existed… very cool
The thing about people like Trump, is that they always do worse than the most vile speculations about them.
I’m sure over his life he has been blackmailed several times, starting when he was a teenager.
Why stop now? Nothing in his ordinary business stopped now, and I assume the question is not who is currently trying, but which agencies and people are not.

From my understanding, busting monopolies, without changing the underlying structures, only creates Oligopolies which coordinate together.
It’s going to take far more than that

It cannot be taken down unless there are many changes in several countries; however it will be quite the achievement to reform or have revolution in only one or two countries in the next generation.
The only hope in all this is that technology changes, and what Google has control over will be obsolete in a decade or more.
Cold comfort.

Ydi, you spoke reason in a troll community that has rules that any tech savvy person could see as a danger sign.
Don’t feed the trolls
Yea I was there; and this is unrealistic! We chiseled on stone tablets: paper came out later.
