Dude it was me who got confused LMAO
While we were having this back and forth I was also talking in another thread about wanting to read more Cuban history.
Let me find the actual controversy book.
Just a guy shilling for gun ownership, tech privacy, and trans rights.

Oh same honestly. I think he ultimately did the right thing with the publishing issue. He also made the correct business move sorta staying out of it when Karl Kasarda was having a spat with Browning and the ar15.com forum.
Ian’s dome a pretty good job being a neutral observer and has course corrected both times he’s started to swerve.

Yeah I don’t think that’s the guy who was imbedded with the Azov battalion during the Ukrainian civil uprising in the early 2010s
That’s also not Ian McCallum.
But that is the guy I recommended earlier in a different thread.
Are you confused or am I?

Google turns up nothing. You’re gonna have to link it if true.
Also this was a controversy from 3-4 years ago. I’m willing to let the man grow. Unfortunately this very thread starting with him working with Brandon “Don’t simp for communists” Herrera.
So there’s also that.

I can see how you’d struggle to find youtubers who aren’t sucking Musks toes if you’re watching AI news people and Russell Brand.
But trust me, choosing to simply consume content that isn’t so negative is the quickest way to find rational people.
I personally really like Alex O’Connor right now. He does a lot of engagement with religious and philosophical type people. He’s an atheist who’s just genuinely trying to understand.

“Cuba Since the revolution of 1959: a critical assessment” by Samuel Farber
I have not read this book yet and only have it because I was in Haymarkets book club for a while. So I can’t attest to the quality other than I generally trust Haymarket.

Not specifically. I just remember how much Thunderf00t made me an angry atheist for a time and how unpleasant that was mentally.
Looks like he’s on a hyper Musk hate train now. Which while based I’m sure his content is still very toxic to consume.
And I don’t wish that on anyone.

I think a real hobby would help with your mental health…

Tried to publish a book written by a Nazi then cried about it when everyone said “No I’m not buying a book written by a Nazi”
Its how a lot of us learned about Ukraine’s Azov battalion and their Swarze sonne symbol.

Damn. The double whammy of “things someone into guns on Lemmy won’t like”
Brandon Herrera AND Forgotten weapons
Shame too. I quite like engineering. But fascists also like it.

That makes sense. I’ve never wanted to play bedrock so I’ve never tried.
Sorry other poster.

What are you talking about? When was the last time you tried this?

I agree. Lots of great movies aren’t necessarily box office winners.
That being said I’m 95% sure From Ares is going to suffer the same fate as every other Tron.
We all collectively forget about them until the next one comes out in a decade.

He’s a libertarian who is, self admittedly, hard to work with. He’s also petty and a pedant.
Great for right to repair and digital sovereignty, but there’s a lot more arguably real issues in the world than making sure my tech is upgradable. Like I’m pretty sure he talk about supporting RFK Jr in 24 [citation needed]'. I don’t follow him as closely since he made a 20 minute video trying to argue that AOC is wrong about there being no such thing as unskilled labor by explaining the exact point.
I really don’t wanna know his thoughts on trans rights or the mass racist deportations.

We alao leave out it was a non-consensual kiss from either party since they were both being mind controlled

In fairness, it is an American show.
Its somewhat justifiable, kinda.

Terry A. Davis’s story inspired me to try coding professionally.
Unfortunately coding professionally convinced me I’d have more fun in IT.

This is one of those things where my 6+ ft height is a privilege.
I have never even dreamed of putting my feet on the dash.

I want to be called out.
I love philosophy stuff and often I’ll start to form an opinion that’s a scientific or even problematic.
My lovely fiancé will often call out potentially shitty thoughts and I re-evaluate them.

There’s only archives of this page says reddit
I wouldn’t be surprised if the guy did publish it under a pen name and different title.
