The term “artificial intelligence” was first used in the 50s, so video game AI wasn’t the original meaning either. Arguably neither video game AI nor machine learning AI are proper AI, but the term has always been very malleable. I don’t think the other meanings are lost. If you say “the enemies in this game have bad AI”, people aren’t going to think that you mean LLMs.

While it may enable you to delete toxic comments, it’ll enable other people to be toxic without being called out. I think it makes sense for “personal” spaces like user profiles, but not really beyond that.

To be honest, I don’t think anyone can be truly stoic (think Spock from Star Trek) 100% of the time, it works with fictional characters, but “I control y emotional response” is always more of a goal than the reality.

The original language will almost always sound the best and in the case of anime, that’s Japanese. The Japanese dub will be what the lip movements are synced to and the actual studio making the anime will be involved in choosing and directing the voice actors to best match their vision. Foreign-language dubs will be made by some third-party companies with little to no involvement of the original studio.

Lifestyle is another factor. Japanese people walk a lot more, living in neighborhoods where they can go shopping, socialize etc all on foot. An elderly American living in the suburbs who has bad eyes and can’t drive anymore will be mostly stuck at home, contributing to the deterioration of their health. Japan also has universal public healthcare, so dying from being unable to afford treatment is not really a thing. There’s also a strong culture of respecting and providing assistance to elders which I’m sure plays a role as well.

Having learned a lot of Japanese and a little bit of Mandarin, I’d say that Mandarin is easier overall. Pronunciation might be simpler in Japanese, but the grammar is much more complex.
