Do we have any sublemmies designed to cater to bigger social medias? Ex findasubreddit, but on lemmy?
cross-posted from: https://lemmy.perthchat.org/post/192633 > Ex findasubreddit, but on lemmy. So instead of posting to like r/findasubreddit, one posts to c/findasubreddit and uses that to find a subreddit. > > Since, imo, esp for niche topics, the lemmyverse isn't big enough to stand on it's own. But the lemmyverse could still reduce the number of posts to say reddit. > > Prob possible to use it for like other platforms, like follow for follow instagram hashtags.

What other multiplayer games are you guys playing? Any interest in gaming together in other games?
cross-posted from: https://lemmy.perthchat.org/post/133975 > Basically c/chat + c/gaming. Anything that increases socializing is good especially considering loneliness is on the rise in modern times. > > The Lemmyverse chess event just ended https://lemmy.ca/post/292674 which is the most collaborative fedi gaming thing I've heard of. > > Lemmygrad might have a video gaming together thing too. > > List what multiplayer games you're willing to play with other Fedizens.

1st place wintermute 2nd; liwott 3rd; straight peach 4th; sexy peach 5th; michael 6th; me (Sorry about delay, been busy) Until proven otherwise, wintermute is the strongest chess player on the fediverse :p I learnt a lot of stuff about running an e-tournament. Biggest factor is needing a lot of substitutes for when people drop out. Which would make the results weird, because say wintermute drops out and I sub in for him, then i'd lose the finals. combah text, by david revoy the pepper and carrot author

cross-posted from: https://lemmy.ml/post/476057 > The activity of the SocialHub community, like all other 'fediverse-substrate' bodies, has waned. From an active community to just a forum. Now a decision has to be made for the future of SocialHub. The options are stopping, be just a forum, or revitalize a vibrant community. The last option needs people willing and committed to do so. To step up for the sake of Fediverse Futures.

A Fedizens walked into a bar
(Coopy pasta this onto reddit) I went to a bar last week and saw this total fediette. I immediately fedied a little in my pants and decided to put my fedi where my mouth is. I went up and sat my fediussy on the stool next to her, and asked her if I knew her. Nah, you're too pretty. I'd remember your face. Misskey to remember, funkwhake to forget. She was instantly feding out her panties at the mere thought of feding out with me. Then some anti-fedier jerkop came up and said "Are you fucking quoting the fediverse (2022) to pick up girls?" I fedipanicked. I said "I...ill follow you on diaspora?" and he started #fediblocking me. I fedied the hell out and fedied all over that guy and am now in federated prison for "fediMurder". Don't those fedidetectives know it was a fediverse reference? All in all, follow me on pixelfed?

How much resources does Lemmy/fediverse need?
cross-posted from: https://lemmy.ml/post/440678 > I will rent a v-server today with those specs: > **2 CPU cores, 4GB RAM, 80GB disk space** > > I think it's enough to run normal websites and even a game server, but I have no experience with the Fediverse. > > Is this enough to run a few fediverse instances, like Lemmy and Mastodon or even others? > > How much resources does Lemmy need in particular? > > Thank you for your help.

Establishing an acct migration norm
we can make this a tradition when people start on lemmy.ml/(twitter/fb/etc) and then make an announcement post with their account contributions and announce account retirement, and choosing a smaller instance to migrate to. Also making the choice whether to confirm their next identity or continue anonymously.

People hate reading, so i'll copy paste the important points from my previous posts here. if you can help with graphics or advertising to get more people to join thatd be great! # Format Round robin. Each person is playing 2 games, finals might be 3 games # Rules: - Feel free to ~~gentleman~~ gentlecoin to whatever rules you want. But i'd recommend allow 1 undo each, especially if you're both inexperienced. If you're experienced and the person you're playing against is inexperienced, consider giving them more undos. - Best of 1 - in my experience lichess works best if you register, but not required though clearing your cookies will break the game iirc!!! https://lichess.org/ - Both people have to report who won here. Both of you also attempt to report how many moves it took for you to win, might be used for tie breaking. - Dont cheat ex by having a grandmaster computer play for you - Do at least 1 move a day # Gambling: - I'm down to bet an imaginary currency like [!lemmybucks@lemmy.ml](https://lemmy.ml/c/lemmybucks) or cat girls or what have you. 1v1 me sib! --- Would be cool if you upload your match so we can see what happened!

[Event] Chess rules, format, betting here.
# Format: Edit: round robin, not an even number that is easily divisible into a bracket. [Event] The fedizens first global chess tournament!
*Roses are red* *Violets are blue* *You're gonna sign up for this chess tournament* --- --- # How to play: 0. Most important! Share this event as widely as possible! Post on the fediverse and even on your Facebook, Reddit, tiktok etc 1. Sign up in the comments here. Just say your signing up. 2. I'll arrange brackets. Or if you particularly want to play someone, mention it in the comments and I'll pair you guys up 3. I'm open to suggestions, but lichess seems like the easiest way to set up matches, but really, if you can get your opponent to agree to use like Minetest chess, go for it! 4. If someone off the fediverse wants to play, have them contact me somehow. You could even relay their messages to me. # prizes: - once [the fedizens enquirer news paper](https://lemmy.ca/c/thefedizenenquirer) is up and running, you'll be featured there. - myself, [@sexy_peach@feddit.de](https://feddit.de/u/sexy_peach), Michael from [Perthchat](https://matrix.to/#/#general:perthchat.org) and/or [@Helix@feddit.de](https://feddit.de/u/Helix) will simp for you - paid tournament will follow later on, if enough interest --- Has this ever been attempted before?
